How do I become an Azteco reseller?
You need to complete an Azteco reseller application form and verify your identity. You will also need to agree to our terms and conditions.
How do I top up my Azteco reseller account with funds?
You can top up your Azteco reseller account using a wire transfer or bitcoin payment. The minimum top-up amount is USD 10,000.
What currencies can I use to top up my Azteco reseller account?
You can top up your Azteco reseller account using USD or bitcoin. All bitcoin top-ups are converted to USD at the current exchange rate.
What happens to the funds in my Azteco reseller account?
The funds in your Azteco reseller account are only used when you create a bitcoin voucher for a customer.
For example, imagine that you have $5,000 in your Azteco reseller account and you sell a bitcoin voucher for $20. When you create the bitcoin voucher, $20 will be deducted from your reseller account. The bitcoin value of the Azteco voucher is fixed at that point for the customer.
Can I cancel my Azteco reseller account and get a refund?
Yes. You can cancel your account at any time. We will refund the balance less a 2% administrative fee and any commissions paid in advance.
Am I exposed to any risks from bitcoin price volatility?
No. The funds in your Azteco reseller account are stored in USD. When you create a bitcoin voucher, a USD amount will be deducted from your account and converted to a bitcoin value for the voucher.
Am I selling bitcoin or bitcoin vouchers to my customers?
You are selling bitcoin vouchers to your customers, not bitcoin. Azteco is responsible for sending the bitcoin to the customer when they redeem their voucher.
What types of Azteco vouchers can I sell?
You can sell two types of vouchers:
- An Azteco lightning voucher uses the Bitcoin Lightning Network to transfer the bitcoin. Lightning transactions are completed in a few seconds and network processing fees are typically less than a few cents
- An Azteco on-chain voucher uses the main Bitcoin Network to transfer bitcoin. On-chain transactions can take several minutes to complete and network processing fees can cost several dollars.
How will my customers redeem their Azteco vouchers?
Customers can redeem an Azteco lightning voucher by scanning their voucher QR code with a lightning wallet app.
Customers can redeem an Azteco on-chain voucher by visiting azte.co to enter their 16-digit voucher code and bitcoin address.

What happens after my customer has redeemed their Azteco voucher?
Once the customer has redeemed their Azteco voucher, they have full ownership and control of their bitcoin. Azteco does not have access to their bitcoin or their bitcoin wallet.
Do I need to verify the identity of my customers?
If you are based in one of the following G20 countries, then you don’t need to verify the identity of your customers as Azteco vouchers fall below the FATF upper limit for “know your customer” anti-money laundering rules:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom, and United States.
Azteco resellers are responsible for following their local laws and regulations at all times.
Do I need to verify my identity with Azteco?
Yes. Azteco’s transactions with approved resellers fall above the FATF upper limit for “know your customer” anti-money laundering rules.
Can I sell vouchers for other “crypto-currencies”?
No. We only sell bitcoin vouchers and we have no plans to sell vouchers for other “crypto-currencies”.
